To know whether the market is lacking momentum and to choose a trend direction, FDI gives you a value of more than 1.5 as an indication. This indication is useful as it demonstrates that the market is choppy and unpredictable where you must avoid trading. On the other side, FDI value of less than 1.5 means that the market is stable and can handle a trend where the traders can take signals and trade easily.
